Thomas De La Rue Travelling Inkwell

Rare example of this late 19th Century Travelling Inkwell. It is made of steel with a lovely Rosewood case. The inkwell folds out to reveal a glass inner bottle with a cork seal. The seal is badly worn but otherwise the unit is in lovely condition. The front is marked "Ransomes Patent" and it has the makers mark "De La Ru & Co"
The mechanism works smoothly and the rosewood frame is in excellent condition. This a nice example of an early travelling inkwell.
