This pen is quite interesting. The clip and nib are from the Conway Stewart factory as is the cap. The barrel has been modified by a jeweller and two 18ct gold bands have been added. These so called "Jewellers Pens" are top quality and the added bands would have given this piece a premium price tag.
The hallmark tells us that the gold bands were assayed in London in 1922 so the pen dates from slightly earlier.
It is made from Smooth Hard Rubber and is in excellent condition with only minor marks and very light scratches. The plating to the clip and lever box is in good condition with some wear to the extremities.
The pen has a superb Fine Nib that writes smoothly. It has been fully restored and is ready to write.
It is supplied in its original Conway Stewart box.
We are very lucky here at Vintage Fountain Pens Ltd as we are able to continue to run the business from home. However we are taking every precaution to ensure that we all remain safe, all envelopes are new and come from sealed packaging, all pens and accessories are kept in sealed cupboards until required and all work areas are disinfected on a daily basis. We are still taking in repairs and, as long as the Post Office is open, we are able to turn them round very quickly. Let us hope that we get on top of this virus very quickly and we can all get back to normal. Thank you for your continued support.
