The Parker Duofold Junior was first introduced in 1962 as part of the Duofold Aerometric range. The range consisted of the the Slimfold with the No.5 nib, the Junior with the larger No.10 nib, the standard Duofold and the Demi with the No.25 nib, the Senior with the No.35 nib and, finally, the prestigious Maxima, fitted with the huge No.50 nib. The range was produced right through to the 1970's and they were extremely popular because of their reliability and quality.
This is the Duofold Junior Fountain Pen and Propelling Pencil set dating from around 1963. There is a little note in the box saying that the set was presented to Mr W Carter on Advent Sunday in 1963 which according to my calculation is the 1st December 1963 - Just a few days after I was born!!
They are finished in Black with gold filled trim to the clip and cap ring. The pen is fitted with a lovely Broad nib which writes beautifully and is also fitted with the ultra reliable aerometric filler (for filling with ink from a bottle.) Both pen and ball pen are in mint condition and they have seen very little use over the years. They are supplied in their original box.
We are very lucky here at Vintage Fountain Pens Ltd as we are able to continue to run the business from home. However we are taking every precaution to ensure that we all remain safe, all envelopes are new and come from sealed packaging, all pens and accessories are kept in sealed cupboards until required and all work areas are disinfected on a daily basis. We are still taking in repairs and, as long as the Post Office is open, we are able to turn them round very quickly. Let us hope that we get on top of this virus very quickly and we can all get back to normal. Thank you for your continued support.
