Description.

This is a very unusual and desirable version of the Vacumatic. It is a standard lockdown model made around 1935 but it has had a Sterling Silver Overlay fitted. The overlay was made by Arial Kullock and consists of a flower pattern.

The lockdown filler was made between 1933 and 1938 with the overlay being added at some point after that. The overlay is a little worn and pitted and the gold plate on the flower heads is worn but the overall effect is very striking, almost a shabby chic look which is very much sought after.

The pen works in exactly the same way as a standard Vac and it has been fully serviced only a few days ago.

The 14ct gold nib writes smoothly with a Medium Italic line.
