Description;

This is a really nice example of the Sheaffer Balance dating from the mid 1940's. It is the Number 1000 Balance finished in Striated Black and Brown Marble. The pen is fitted with a 14ct Gold open nib that writes with a beautiful extra fine line.

The pen uses the relaibale Vac-fil system, a plunger system similar to the Onoto or later Touchdown models. The mechanism has been serviced and works perfectly. 

The clip is the military style, developed so that it was not visible under the flap of a shirt pocket to comply with military regulations.

Overall the pen is in very good condition with only light marks and scratches commensurate with age and use.
