This pen is a very nice example of the No.470 Universal and was produced in the mid to late 1930's. It is made from Black Chased Hard Rubber with a gold filled lever. The chased pattern to the cap and barrel is in excellent condition. This is the clipless model.
It was marketed and sold by the Stationers W H Smith and has their inscription on the barrel as well as the Conway Stewart marks.
The imprints are both clear and legible and the pen is in very good condition with only very minor wear marks.
The pen has a lovely Medium Semi Flexible Nib which writes very smoothly. It has been fully restored and is ready to write.
