This is an excellent example of the famous Watermans Ideal No.52V made from Hard Rubber in the Blue Green Ripple Pattern. Apart from the relatively common Red ripple pens, Waterman made three other Ripple patterns, Olive Ripple, Rose Ripple and this one, the Blue-Green Ripple. They are all very rare and hard to find.
It was made in the USA around 1928 and is in fantastic condition with a deep imprint and crisp colours. the cap is fitted with a wonderful solid 9ct gold cap band.
It has been fully restored and now works perfectly. It is a lever filler and is fitted with an amazing Fine Flex Nib. This is the 52V model, slightly shorter than the standard 52 but retaining the same diameter. When the cap is posted the pen is a very usable 150mm long.
