Parker introduced the True Blue version of their popular Duofold Streamlined pen at the end of the 1920's, a period dominated by the Wall Street crash and the ensuing depression. The True Blue was aimed at the mid range market but failed to catch on in a time of austerity and they were quickly discontinued. There was nothing wrong with these good looking pens, they were just an unfortunate victim of poor timing. The True Blue pens are now quite rare and very collectable.
This is the Streamlined short version, fitted with the reliable button filling system. It was made around 1929 and is in fabulous condition.
The colours are clean and bright and the imprint is clear and legible. The gold plating to the clip and cap ring is in lovely condition with some very minor wear at the edges.
The pen has been fully serviced and is filling and writing exactly as it did 90 years ago. It has been thoroughly cleaned and prepared.
All parts of the pen are totally original, including the wonderful Extra Fine nib.
