Description.

This is a very nice example of the desirable Parker Vacumatic Major. It was made in the USA and is date coded ".3." for the first quarter of 1943. 

This is the 3rd Generation Major model with the plastic filler. The first generation Vacumatics (1932 - 1937) were fitted with the metal lockdown filler and had a short blind cap, the seond generation (1937 - 1941) were fitted with the speedline filler with the longer blind cap, the third generation (1942 - 1948) were fitted with the plastic filler, again with a longer blind cap. The later Oversize models with the single cap band were rebranded as the Vacumatic Maxima.

The pen is in very good condition throughout with minor marks and scratches commensurate with use. The chrome plating is in good order with some wear at the extremities. The colours are clean and vibrant throughout. The imprint is clear and legible.

The diaphragm has been replaced and the pen is in full working order.

The original 14ct gold nib writes smoothly with a Fine line.
