This is a good example of the Duro Point Propelling Pencil which was produced around 1925. It is made from Red Hard Rubber finished in the Woodgrain Pattern.

The imprint is clear and legible and the pencil is in very good overall condition with only minor wear marks. The mechanism works fine and the lead propels smoothly, note that on this early model the lead is not designed to retract back into the pencil although it is easy to simply push it back manually. The propel / repel mechanism would take another few years before it appeared.
