This is a good working example of the famous Parker Duofold Fountain pen. This is the Senior Model, a large pen with a great deal of presence. It is finished in Black Veined Pearl Marble. This material was particularly susceptible to discolouration which was caused by chemicals in the ink, both cap and barrel on this example are darker than they would have been originally.
The pen dates from around 1928 and was made in Canada for export into Europe. The plating to the cap band and clip is good with some light wear at the edges. Apart from the darkening the cap and barrel are in very good condition and the imprint on the barrel is still clear and legible.
The nib is superb! it is a lovely smooth Fine and is an absolute delight to write with. The pen has been fully serviced and it now works perfectly.
This is a prestigious pen and apart from the barrel darkening, it is in very good condition. The nib is superb!
