Description;

This is a really nice example of the Sheaffer Balance dating from the mid 1940's. It is the Number 1000 Balance with its matching propelling pencil. The pen is fitted with a 14ct Gold Triumph nib that writes with a beautiful extra fine line.

The pen uses the relaibale Vac-fil system, a plunger system similar to the Onoto or later Touchdown models. The mechanism has been serviced and works perfectly. The propelling pencil works smoothly and uses 0.9mm leads which are readily available.

Overall the set is in very good condition with only light marks and scratches commensurate with age and use.
