Description.

This is a very nice example of the rare Parker Duofold Fountain Pen and Pencil set, known by collectors as the "Duovac" because it had the button filling mechanism from the duofold in a Vacumatic style cap and barrel. It was made in the USA and is date coded for 1942. The Duovac is a very attractive pen, it has the standard Vac colour of Azure Blue interspersed with black vertical stripes. This is the earlier version of the Duovac with the button filler. The pencil has a rotary action with 1.0mm leads.

The set is in near mint condition throughout with only very minor marks and scratches commensurate with use. The gold plating is in perfect condition and the  imprint on both barrels is clear and legible.

Both pen and pencil have been fully serviced. They are supplied in their original hard plastic case - a rare item in itself!

The 14ct gold nib writes smoothly with a lovely Extra Fine Line.

There is a neat inscription on both cap rings - "SJC"
