Description;

The Parker Duofold Senior was introduced in 1925 as part of the first Duofold range. The early models were made from Red or Black Hard Rubber, later models, from around 1928, were made from Permanite, Parkers name for Celluloid. Permanite was developed by Du Pont with Parkers help and was available in more colours including pens in Lapis Lazuli, Chinese Red and Mandarin Yellow. It was to be a few more years before the marble effect pens were available made from the newer Acrylic materials.

This is a Duofold Senior "Lucky Curve" Fountain Pen in Lapis Lazuli. It was made in Canada around 1928 and is in very nice condition.

The colours are clean, bright and consistent, the imprint is clear and legible. The gold plating to the clip and cap ring is in lovely condition with some wear at the edges. The barrel has darkened slightly over the years.

The pen has been fully serviced and is filling and writing exactly as it did nearly 100 years ago. It has been thoroughly cleaned and prepared. 

All parts of the pen are totally original, including the fabulous Fine side of Medium 14ct gold nib.

This is a very nice example of this desirable pen, apart from the slight darkening of the barrel it is in very good condition. The nib is smooth and the gold plating is strong. It would make an excellent daily user.
