Description.

The Visofil range was first introduced by Mabie Todd in 1934, there were two distinctly different models.

The Visofil V was an ink-visible model with a plunger system and a large ink capacity. in 1937 the Visofil VT was introduced in response to competition from the Parker Vacumatic. The VT used a more complicated filling system, and they are much more difficult to service than the original Visofil V. I am pleased to report that this particular pen, a Visofil VT, has been fully serviced by the widely acknowledged Visofil expert, Dr Laurence Oldfield. The Visofils are excellent pens, the filling systems work very well, and they have a large ink capacity.

So, this pen is a Visofil VT340/78 in Silver and Black hatched marble with gold filled trim to the clip and bands. The imprint on the barrel is clear and legible and visible ink section is ambered but still opaque enough to see the contents. The pen is in excellent condition overall with only minor wear marks. The plating to the clip and band is OK with wear to the cap and barrel bands.

The No.3 Fine nib writes smoothly with a light flex which gives a lovely shape to your writing.
