The Hundred Year Pen was the first Waterman pen to be made from the 'new' acrylic plastic which was termed Lucite by Du Pont. Acrylic turned out to be the best possible material for fountain pens due to its long term stability. Most of todays pens are made from Acrylic in one form or another.

This is the third generation Hundred Year Pen, so called because it offered the buyer a hundred year guarantee. It was a marketing ploy to compete with Sheaffers White Dot and Parkers Blue Diamond lifetime guarantees. The pen was the flagship of Watermans range at the time and they are now relatively rare.

This one is finished in Black and is in very good condition throughout with only minor wear marks and light scratches commensurate with use. The gold plating is a little worn on the clip and cap band.

The nib is a smooth Medium.

The pen has been fully restored and now works perfectly. This a very good example of this iconic pen.
