Description;

Thomas De La Rue Ltd began manufacturing the Onoto range in 1905 and they quickly established themselves in an already densely populated marketplace. The pens were successful because of the excellent quality of the materials used and the superior design of the filling system. Onoto pens were as good, if not better, than all their contemporaries including Parker, Watermans and Conway Stewart.

This is a superb example of the Onoto 6000 series made from Black chased hard rubber. The plunger filling system, deliciously quirky but extremely efficient, has been fully serviced with a new washer and cork seals fitted.

The pen itself is in very nice condition, the chasing is a little worn on the barrel but the imprint on the barrel is clear. There are two solid 9ct gold decorative bands, one on the slip cap and the other on the barrel.

The 14ct gold nib is in excellent condition and writes beautifully with a Fine line. The nib has a wonderful flex to it which gives a lovely shape to your handwriting. The pen is supplied in its original box which in itself is a rare item. The pen will be 100 years old next year!!

Onoto pens are fabulous writing instruments and will give years of faithful service.
