Description;

John Holland were a reputable manufacturer of Fountain pens from the late 1800's through to the mid 20th Century. Whilst they weren't particularly innovative (they were trend followers rather than trend setters) the pens were solid and reliable. Goerge S Parker was an agent for John Holland pens in the years before he branched out with his own products. George used the basic designs of the Holland pens and developed and improved them. It is ironic that many years later John Holland copied Parker's designs and marketed them as their own. As a second tier manufacturer John Holland struggled with the great depression and their products declined from the late 1930's onwards, the War in Europe did not help them and they finally ceased trading around 1950.

This is their model No.12 (marked on the nib), a lever filler made from plain Black Celluloid. Holland started using Celluloid for their pens around 1925 so this example would be from the late 20's or early 30's. It is an excellent example of their work and the pen is in fabulous condition with only the lightest of marks.

The pen has been fully restored and now works perfectly. It is a lever filler and is fitted with an amazing Fine Full Flex nib which is totally original.
