Description.

This is a lovely example of the desirable Parker 51 Double Jewel Vacumatic. The double jewel pens were only made in the USA between 1943 and 1947 and were fitted with the famous Blue Diamond clip signifying Parkers lifetime warranty. 

This is a lovely example, finished in Cedar Blue with a Rolled Gold Cap. The cap is the less common Chevron Band design with an open cartouche and groups of 9 lines. The Blue Diamond clip and the top and bottom tassies are gold filled with the original jewels still present. The barrel imprint is clear and deep and the pen is date coded T7 for 1947. The T designates that it was exported to Europe through Toronto to avoid the high import tariffs that US goods attracted.

The vacumatic filling system has been fully serviced and a new diaphragm has been fitted. The nib is a Fine and the pen writes smoothly. The condition is confidently described as excellent, the pen has only very light wear marks throughout. There some light marks on the shell caused by the clutch ring on the inner cap.

This is a lovely pen, desirable because of its history and rarity.
