This is an excellent example of the Watermans Ideal No.55V made from Red Hard Rubber in the very desirable Ripple Pattern. The V in the name means it is the Vest Pocket model, slightly shorter than the standard fountain pen to enable it to fit neatly inside your vest (ie shirt) pocket.
It was made in the USA around 1930 and is in very good overall condition with crisp colouring. The imprint is worn but still legible. The chrome filled clip and lever box are in good order.
It has been fully restored and now works perfectly. It is a lever filler and is fitted with a lovely Fine nib.
This is another rare model finished in the very desirable woodgrain.
