Pelikan pens have been made in Hanover, Germany since the late 1920's. The piston system, used by all the major European manufacturers, was invented by Pelikan and virtually the same system is still in use today. Pelikan pens were built to very strict tolerances and as a result they have the enviable reputation of being the most reliable pens ever made.

Most pen experts recognise Pelikan as superior to all of the other European manufacturers, including Montblanc! The vintage models, especially, are very much sought after.

This is a Pelikan MK10, made around 1972.  The MK10 is a piston filler and this version is finished in black acrylic with gold filled trim. It is in fabulous condition with very minor marks. 

The pen is fitted with a lovely Fine Gold Plated nib which is totally original to the pen. The piston fillling system has been fully serviced and lubricated and it now works perfectly.
