Description.

This is a fabulous example of this early Parker 51 Vacumatic Rotary style Propelling  Pencil finished in Classic Black with a nice clean 1/10 16K Rolled Gold cap and a gold filled Vacumatic style clip. It is in excellent condition throughout with only very minor marks and scratches. There is no wear to the plating and no dings. It was made in the USA around 1945.

The gold plating is 1/10 16K, this is a very thick layer of gold, nearly three times the standard thickness, it also has the arrow and diamond pattern on the cap, rather then just the plain lined finish.

This pencil matches the Parker 51 Vacumatic range of fountain pens made between 1942 and 1948, it is a rotary propelling pencil, actuated by turning the cap.

The mechanism works well with no slipping, and the pencil takes standard 0.9mm leads which are readily available.

It is 135mm in length.
