Pelikan pens have been made in Hanover, Germany since the late 1920's. The piston system, used by all the major European manufacturers, was invented by Pelikan and virtually the same system is still in use today. Pelikan pens were built to very strict tolerances and as a result they have the enviable reputation of being one of the most reliable pens ever made.

Most pen experts recognise Pelikan as superior to all of the other European manufacturers, including Montblanc! The vintage models, especially, are very much sought after.

The legendary Pelikan 100 is one of the most sought after pens from this wonderful German manufacturer. The Series 1 pens (1937-1949) were characterized by their fluted clip and cap ring, this is a series 2 (1949-1954) with a smooth clip and two seperate cap rings.

The pen is in very good condition with minor signs of age and wear. The imprint on the clip screw is faint but legible. there is a little plating wear to the very end of the clip.

It is fitted with a lovely smooth Fine nib which has a soft flex to it. It has been fully serviced with new seals fitted.
